Wabash raced to a fifth-place field in a field of 32 teams at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Saturday morning.
Billy McManus led the Wabash runners to the finish line. His time of 24:46.90 was his best of the season and putt him 17th in the final individual standings.
Dalton Boyer trimmed over a minute off his top time of the year to finish in 21st place with a time of 24:56.20.
Shane Hoerbert grabbed 39th place by crossing the finish line in 25:16:20, an improvement of 20 seconds over his best time of the year.
Jake Waterman was 46th after bettering his previous best time of the season by finishing in 25:22.40, while
Jared Burris finished 49th by cutting more than a minute off his season-best effort with a time of 25:26.20.
Daniel Hoover added a 72nd place finish out of a field of 275 runners with a season-best time of 25:45.50.
Jake Ponton finished 76th with a time 25:48.80, also a season-best effort.
The Little Giants scored a total of 172 points for its fifth-place finish. Geneseo State won the team title with a score of 55 points. New York University took second place (85 points), while Allegheny finished third (135 points). Carnegie Mellon scored 146 points for a fourth-place finish.
The Little Giants also competed at the Manchester Invitational Saturday in addition to running at Oberlin.
Wabash will race at the North Coast Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships on Saturday, October 27. The College of Wooster will serve as the meet host.
