For the third time in his career, Wabash College head track and field coach
Clyde Morgan has been named the Men's Division III Great Lakes Indoor Coach of the Year by the US Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Morgan earned Indoor Regional Coach of the Year honors in 2010 and 2011.
Morgan and his staff guided Wabash to its third consecutive North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Indoor Track and Field title last week with a total of 220.5 points, making the Little Giants the first team in league history to score more than 200 points in three consecutive seasons. Morgan and assistant coach Roger Busch have two athletes competing at the 2013 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championship Friday and Saturday at North Central College — senior
Jake Waterman (800 meters) and sophomore
Ronnie Posthauer (60-meter hurdles).
"It's truly an honor to have my staff recognized by our colleagues as the Great Lakes Regional Staff of the Year," Morgan said. "This is always a total team effort. I am blessed to work along side some individuals who are great people first, and coaches second. I want to personally thank Roger Busch, Cassie Busch,
Steve Rogers, Aaron Selby, Horace Turner, Dave Keiser , Robert Johnson and our student coach
Brad Pusateri for all of their hard work and dedication to our program and the development of our young men."
Morgan was presented the award at the banquet held Thursday evening to kickoff the national championship meet. Waterman and Posthauer will compete in the preliminary rounds on Friday. The finals will be held Saturday afternoon.
