The Little Giants fired a 316 in Saturday's first round of the Ted Barclay Spring Invitational as part of the 2013 North Coast Athletic Conference Golf Championship. Wabash is eighth in the team scoring.
Wittenberg leads the first-round scoring at 295 strokes. Ohio Wesleyan is second (303), followed by Denison (307), Wooster (309), Allegheny (310), Kenyon (310), and DePauw (315). Hiram (363) and Oberlin (423) are well back of the pack in ninth and tenth, respectively.
Cameron Taylor shot a 75 to tie for seventh place after the first round. He is three strokes off leader Alex Andrews from Wittenberg (72).
Logan Burdick finished with a 77, good for a tie for 15th place.
Seth Hensley scored an 81 to tie for 31st place in the field of 48 golfers.
James Kennedy shot an 83 to tie for 37th place, while
Nick Sommer finished with an 86.
The first segment of the NCAC Championship Tournament ends Sunday at the Granville Golf Club. The final two rounds will be played next weekend at Oakhaven Golf Club.
