Staff Athletic Trainers

Michael Sahm, LAT, ATC
Sahm joined the Wabash College staff in January, 2024, after spending the last 28 years as the athletic trainer at Roncalli High School. While there he provided medical coverage for 26 varsity sports and was a vital part of 11 state championship teams.
Sahm is a graduate of Roncalli High School. He continued his education at Valparaiso University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education while majoring in Athletic Training. He is certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association, and licensed by the State of Indiana. Sahm was named the 2019 Joe Harvey Distinguished Service Award winner by the Indiana Athletic Trainers Association. He was a key presenter regarding concussion management at the 2014, 2016, 2018 & 2021 Indiana Non-Public Educator’s Association Conference.
Sahm has worked as a host committee member for both the 56th and 65th Annual NATA Meetings and Symposium. He was also a featured speaker at the 2004 Indiana Athletic Trainers Association's Fall Symposium. Sahm was part of the medical staff for each of the last six International Bowls with the USA Football National Team. He has also worked with such national events as the Nike All-America Basketball Camp, USA Track and Field Championships, and the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. He has been part of the sideline medical staff for the Big 10 Football and Basketball Championships. He has also worked the USA Cycling Masters Finals.
Olivia Hall
Hall joined the Wabash College athletic training staff in August 2023. She earned a Master of Science in Athletic Training degree from Indiana University in May 2023 after receiving a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology degree from IU in 2021.
Hall worked with the IU softball team as an athletic training student after serving as the women’s soccer team student trainer in 2022. She worked with Indiana University track and field, wrestling, and football programs from 2021 to 2022. In addition, she spent three months as the student athletic trainer for the Clarkson University men’s and women’s ice hockey programs.
Hall is a National Athletic Trainers Association and Indiana Athletic Training Association member. She is BOC certified and holds an Indiana Athletic Trainer license. Hall is also certified in CPR/AED and First Aid through the American Heart Association and holds a Graston Technique, M1 credential. She is also certified Level I and II in dry needling through Master Dry Needling.
Maddie Runyon
Runyon joined the Wabash College athletic training staff in July 2024. She is a 2024 graduate of Franklin College. She received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in Exercise Science at Indiana University. While there, Runyon worked as a student manager for the IU football team.
Runyon worked with Marian University as an athletic training student after serving as the Whiteland High School student trainer in 2023. She worked with the Indy Fuel Hockey Team, Indy Performance Rehab, Franklin College, and Franklin Community High School from 2022 to 2023.
Runyon is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and Indiana Athletic Training Association. She is BOC certified and holds an Indiana Athletic Trainer license. She is also certified in CPR/AED and First Aid through the American Heart Association. Runyon was a featured presenter for her master's research on Mental Health Characteristics and Disordered Eating Behavior in Collegiate Wrestlers at the 75th NATA Conference in New Orleans in 2024.
Health Center Staff
Dr. Eric Poplin, MD, MPH
Dr. Poplin joined the Wabash Health Center Staff in July 2024. He graduated from Centre College in 1987 and earned his medical degree from the University of Kentucky.
Chris Amidon, MSN, APRN, FNP-C
Nurse Practioner Amidon graduated in 1987 from DePauw University's School of Nursing, which was closed a few years later; this is one of many reasons she's always been a Little Giants fan. She earned her graduate degree from Purdue University Global.
Amidon begins her sixth year working at Wabash. Her career has always been focused on public health, and she served as health services coordinator and high school nurse for the Crawfordsville Community Schools for many years prior to working at Wabash. She formerly represented Indiana on the board of the National Association of School Nurses.
Rene Cook, BSN, RN
Ellen Warren, BSN, RN
Warren has worked at Wabash since the fall of 2020. She also currently work at Hendricks Regional Hospital in Danville, Indiana, with a background in surgery, endoscopy and the IV team. Warren graduated from Lakeview College of Nursing (Danville, IL) in December 2005. She grew up in Montgomery County and graduated from North Montgomery High School. Her husband, Bill, graduated from Wabash in 1996.
