Christopher Philip Morris, native son of Zionsville, Indiana, you came to Wabash as an accomplished student-athlete: you were an All-State football player and set your school’s single-season rushing record; you were the school’s weight lifting champion; and you qualified for the state track meet in the 100, 200, and 4 x 400 relay.

At Wabash, you majored in speech and joined Phi Delta Theta. As a football player, you were a linchpin on arguably Wabash’s greatest team in history — the 2002 squad that captured the College its first North Coast Athletic Conference championship en route to a 12-1 record and final eight finish in Division III. A speedy tailback, you complimented Jake Knott’s powerful passing arm perfectly. You ran for over 200 yards in a game three times and are one of just two players in school history to accomplish that feat. You went for 240 yards against Hiram, third best all-time, and gained 205 yards against Kenyon on just 12 carries for an average of 17 yards per rush.

In Wabash’s storybook season of 2002, you posted eight games of 100 or more rushing yards, a school record, and you scored 19 touchdowns. Over those 13 games you ran 263 times for an all-time, still-standing single-season record of 1,497 yards, which included 159 yards against the eventual national champions in the national quarterfinals. You own six of the 30 best single-game rushing efforts ever recorded at Wabash. You finished your career with 3,247 yards, which broke Daryl Johnson’s all-time record — a mark most fans thought would never fall. And your 40 touchdowns rank second among running backs in school history.

As a member of Wabash’s track team, you were a part of a record-setting sprint medley relay team that clocked a still-standing time of 3:36.35. Christopher Philip Morris, for your dazzling rushing ability and for performing at an exceptionally high level in Wabash’s biggest games and on its most outstanding teams, the National Association of Wabash Men is honored to induct you into the Wabash College Athletics Hall of Fame. Some Little Giant!
