Chris, the National Association of Wabash Men is honored to recognize your graceful, high-scoring, and high-flying play for Coach Mac Petty’s basketball teams.
You arrived shortly after Wabash had won the Division III National Championship, but Wabash had a target on its back every night out and you always seemed to get every team’s best shot – and you got attention from every team’s best defender… and sometimes two. Still, you were a prolific scorer, talented rebounder, and were a shot-blocking machine – you owned the College’s record for blocked shots for two decades and still rank second to this day.
You started all four seasons you were on campus and averaged 15 points, seven rebounds, and almost two blocked shots a game – for your career! In your senior year, you earned All-America honors by averaging 21 points and eight rebounds, while leading the nation with 51 blocked shots. You graduated having scored 1,473 points and you still rank in the top-10 all-time in games played, points, field goals, rebounds, and blocked shots. And in the final game of your illustrious career, you led the Little Giants to a 19-point smackdown of our arch rival, DePauw.
Wabash College loves its basketball and traces its history back to the very dawn of the game itself. Therefore, the National Association of Wabash Men takes special pride in honoring the best of the best basketball players through induction into the Wabash Athletics Hall of Fame. Congratulations, Chris, you are Some Little Giant.
