Wabash Scores 24 Top-Eight Finishes At Johnson Invitational

Wabash recorded 24 top-eight finishes while hosting the non-scoring  2024 Robert H. Johnson Some Little Giant indoor track and field meet at the Knowling Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon.
 
Brayden Curnutt and Joe Barnett scored individual victories for the Little Giants in distance races. Curnutt won the mile run with a time of 4:19.22. Teammate Angel Perez picked up a seventh-place finish in the same event with a time of 4:38.84. Barnett won the 3,000-meter run by finishing in 8:58.37. Justin Santiago scored a third-place finish by completing the race in 9:20.87. Thomas Price gave the Little Giants a third runner in the top eight with a seventh-place finish at 9:38.57.
 
Will Neubauer placed second in the 800-meter run by turning in a time of 1:56.01. David Adesanya placed fourth by finishing in 1:57.65.
 
Kannon Chase cleared 1.83 meters to place third overall in the high jump. Mike Holsclaw scored a fourth-place finish by clearing 1.78 meters. Ronnie Moore picked up a third-place finish in the pole vault with a top height of 3.80 meters. Ryan Adams placed fifth with his best effort of 3.20 meters. Holsclaw added a third-place finish in the triple jump with a top effort of 12.25 meters. Wyatt Dorsey placed fifth overall in the event with a leap of 11.59 meters.
 
Takeshi Greiner ran to fourth place in the finals of the 60-meter hurdles by crossing the line in 9.12. Conner Grimes finished fourth in the long jump with a leap of 6.45 meters. Landon Miller produced a top leap of 5.05 meters in the long jump to finish sixth overall.
 
Christopher Royal picked up a fifth-place finish in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.12. Owen Smith added a seventh-place effort by finishing in 54.26. Tanner Brooks captured seventh place in the 200-meter dash by finishing in 23.65.
 
Sly Williams ran to eighth place in the finals of the 60-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 7.25. Quinn Sholar produced two eighth-place finishes in the two throwing events. Sholar turned in a top mark of 14.24 meters to earn eighth place in the shot put. His top toss of 15.86 meters in the weight throw also earned an eighth-place finish.
 
Wabash added two top-three finishes in relays, as well. Conner Grimes, Nathan France, Howie Steele, and Brook combined to finish second in the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:33.92. Steele, France, Adensanya, and Neubauer finished the 4x400-meter relay in 3:31.54 to capture third place.
 
Wabash competes at the Rose-Hulman Friday Night Meet on January 19 at 6 p.m.
