Little Giants Finish Third At 2024 Indiana DIII Track and Field Championships

Wabash scored 14 top-five finishes at Saturday's 2024 Indiana Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships to earn a third-place finish out of eight teams competing at the event.
 
Will Neubauer raced to first place in the 800-meter run, finishing in 1:54.07. Haiden Diemer-McKinney finished third overall with a time of 1:56.20 in his first competition of the season. David Adesanya scored a fourth-place finish with a time of 1:56.44.
 
Takeshi Greiner earned a pair of top-four finishes for the Little Giants. The senior won the 400-meter hurdles with a career-best time of 56.31. Owen Smith gave Wabash a 1-2 finish by placing second with a career-best time of 57.60. Greiner, the reigning North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Track and Field Sprints/Hurdles Athlete of the Week, placed third in the 110-meter hurdles with another career-best time of 15.42.
 
Howie Steele, Nathan France, Adesanya, and Neubauer combined to win the 4x400-meter relay with a combined time of 3:22.66.
 
Angel Perez placed second in the 1500-meter run by finishing with a career-best time of 4:09.43. Aidan Makled completed the race in 4:11.54 to capture fourth place. Drake Hayes added a fourth-place finish in the 10,000-meter run by posting a time of 32:54.65.
 
Sly Williams scored a second-place finish in the long jump with a leap of 6.38 meters (20 feet, 11.25 inches). Williams added a fourth-place finish in the triple jump with a top mark of 12.24 meters (40 feet, 2 inches).
 
Ryan Papandria turned in a top throw of 47.73 meters (156 feet, 7 inches) to earn second place in the javelin. Lane Brockman placed fifth in the hammer throw with a top effort of 46.16 meters (151 feet, 5 inches). Jake Oostman placed third in the javelin with a throw of 45.73 meters (150 feet).
 
Wabash scored 136 total points to finish three points behind Rose-Hulman in second place. Trine won the meet with a total of 153.5 points. DePauw (122 points), Manchester (83 points), Hanover 66.5 points), Franklin (43 points), and Anderson (32 points) completed the team scoring.
