David Denham works with the defensive line and special teams coordinator in 2015.
Denham started his collegiate playing career as an inside linebacker at Tiffin University in 2001 before transferring to Ball State University 2003. He was one of nine game-day captains for the Cardinals and earned the 2005 Ray Loutheren Senior Award for his outstanding contributions to the team on and off the field. He graduated from Ball State in 2006 with a bachelor of science degree.
Denham began his coaching career at Rose-Hulman in 2006 as a linebackers coach. He coordinated recruiting visit weekends for the Fightin’ Engineers and was responsible for recruiting in Indiana, Illinois, and Ohio. Denham developed the defensive game plan each week, coordinated practice field set-up and breakdown along with pre-game and post-game meals for the team. He also worked with the defensive self-scout and game plan drawings.
He took over defensive line coaching duties at Rose-Hulman in 2007, helping Paul Spreen earn Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive MVP honors. Denham also planned team meals for road games and was responsible for national recruiting. He also served as a graduate assistant at Ball State from March to July in 2007, where he assisted with the breakdown of opposing team’s video, served as an academic liaison, and worked as an assistant in spring ball with the Cardinals’ linebackers.
Denham spent the last six seasons at Saint Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana. He served as associate head coach, special teams and video coordinator, and defensive line coach for the Pumas. Denham was named the 2011 Great Lakes Valley Conference Defensive Assistant Coach of the Year. His defensive line led the GLVC in sacks in 2010, while his players earned Defensive Lineman of the Year honors from the conference in 2010 and 2011.
He resides in Indianapolis with his wife, Rheannan, and their children, Anthony and Addison.
