"This was really a must win for us, and the guys responded by playing some great soccer," head coach Roberto Giannini said. "It was a miserable day in terms of the weather --- rainy, cold, windy day and the pitch was in rough shape. It made it difficult to play great passing soccer. We knew this would be a dog fight.
"The guys never gave up. The last 20 minutes of regulation was a dramatic back-and-forth battle with two scoring chances for Wooster and two chances for us. Both teams were tired. We found a nice combination that got the ball to Femi, who kicked a beautiful shot to the far post for the golden goal. It was just a great performance by the lads in terms of the heart and desire from the first minute in some really tough conditions."
Both teams managed to fire nine shots, with the Little Giants putting three shots on net before Oluyedun's game winner.
Levi Noblitt,
George Vinihakis, and
Austin Jennings each had shots on goal for Wabash.
Matt Paul recorded five saves in the victory.
Wabash improves to 5-4-2 overall and 1-1 in NCAC matches. The Little Giants return home on Wednesday for a non-conference match against Capital University at 4:30 p.m.
