Box Score Wabash senior linebacker
CJ Gum has been named the North Coast Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in the Little Giants' 24-3 win over Washington University-St. Louis on Saturday.
Gum returned to action for the first time in two weeks after suffering a knee injury and led the Wabash defense with 13 total tackles. He recorded seven solo tackles along with six assisted tackles. Gum also had a team-high 3-1/2 tackles for losses totaling 14 yards to help Wabash hold the Bears to 59 total rushing yards and 249 yards of total offense. The Little Giant defense also kept Washington University from scoring on two of the Bears' three trips to the red zone, and held them to only a field goal on the only opportunity in which they did score.
