GAMBIER, Ohio — Wabash finished its 2011 soccer season Saturday on the road against Kenyon. The Lords claimed a 1-0 victory with a goal in the 36th minute of the match.
Both teams managed three shots on goal, but Andrew Parmalee's attempt with less than 10 minutes left in the first half found the back of the net for the eventual game-winning goal.
"This was one of those games we really didn't deserve to lose," Wabash head coach Roberto Giannini said. "We played good soccer. We had some good chances, particularly in the second half. We had a goal taken off the board because the referee blew the whistle for a foul before we took the shot.
"I couldn't be more proud of the seniors. Not just the way we played today, but for what they've meant to our program for four years. There were a lot of tears today, and not just because of the results. It's because they really cared about playing and being part of this program. I'm really going to miss them."
Seniors
Allan Swan and
