Wabash College will begin its 125th season of football this Saturday when Erik Raeburn's Little Giants head to Wooster, Ohio to play the College of Wooster.
Kickoff at John P. Papp Stadium is set for 1 p.m.
Wabash owns an overall record of 613-376-59 over the 124 seasons of play to this point. The Little Giants rank sixth among Division III schools in all-time victories and are among the top-25 in winning percentage with a mark of .613. Wabash played Butler in the first college football game in the state of Indiana on October 25, 1884, earning a 4-0 victory for the first of those 613 wins.
The Little Giants have won nine of their last 10 opening games, including a 21-17 victory over Wooster last year at home. In that game,
Wes Chamblee scored on a 72-yard pass reception early in the contest but was lost for the rest of the season a few series later with a knee injury. He returns for his senior season as one of four All-Americans on the Little Giants' roster. He is joined by
CJ Gum,
Weston Kitley, and
Jonathon Koop, who were all 2010 D3football.com All-America honorees.
