Box Score Wabash College senior quarterback
Chase Belton has been named the North Coast Athletic Conference Football Offensive Player of the Week in addition to being selected as a member of the D3football.com Team of the Week.
Belton set a new Wabash single-game record for touchdowns responsible for by rushing for three scores and throwing four TD passes in the Little Giants' 54-28 Homecoming win over Carnegie Mellon. Belton ran for a career-best 198 yards, including scoring runs of 21, 16, and 6 yards. He was part of a Wabash ground game that pounded out 383 rushing yards, the fourth-best single-game total in school history.
Belton completed 13-of-23 pass attempts for 183 yards. He connected on two touchdown passes to
Sean Hildebrand (9 yards; 6 yards), and one each to
Andrew Gibson (3 yards) and
Houston Hodges (30 yards).
Belton is the second Wabash player this season to earn both NCAC and D3football.com honors. Sophomore linebacker
Cody Buresh was named the conference Defensive Player of the Week and was selected to the D3football.com Team of the Week for his efforts in the Little Giants' victory over Denison.
