Box Score The Little Giants soccer team fell in their toughest loss of the season in 1-0 contest against Wittenberg University. The Tigers scored in the closing seconds of regulation.
Wittenberg's Tim Weissman scored the lone goal in the 90th minute of the match. Weissman's initial shot deflected off a Wabash defender but the ball trickled into the lower right corner of the net.
Wabash finished with more shots and shots on goal than the Tigers. The Little Giants also led Wittenberg (5-10-1, 1-4-1 NCAC) in corner kicks, having four chances as opposed to Witt's single corner.
"We played an ok game," Head Coach
Chris Keller said. "I think we had our chances. I'm a little disappointed with the way we acted towards the referee. We complained to him a little bit too much. But I think we played the right game. We hit the post. We had our chances. But it was just one of those games."
Blake Jennings and
Zach Woloshin led the Little Giants in shots with five apiece.
Geno James and
Riley Pelton also got in the shots column each with three attempts.
Dayton Jennings recorded one save in goal for the Little Giants.
Wabash (2-10-2, 0-5-1 NCAC) returns to action Saturday when they play host to Denison at 2 p.m.
