Box Score Wabash produced its highest goal total for the season with three versus the University of Chicago. Unfortunately the Maroons notched nine goals for the victory Tuesday evening in the Windy City.
Chicago opened the match with three goals in the first 29 minutes of play.
Zach Woloshin put Wabash on the scoreboard with his first of two goals in the 29th minute before tallying his second and fourth of the season two minutes later to draw the Little Giants to within a goal. Chicago answered with a goal in the final four minutes to take a 4-2 lead at halftime.
Ivaylo Mantchev cut the lead to 4-3 with his goal in the 12 minute of the second period off a throw-in from
Steve Magura. The Maroons took over the scoring for the remainder of the period, adding five more goals for the victory.
Wabash finished with 10 total shots and six shots on goal. Chicago (3-2-1 fired 26 total shots with 15 on target.
Chase Francoeur made three saves, while
Dayton Jennings took over in the 39th minute of the match and finished with three saves, as well.
The Little Giants (2-5-1) open North Coast Athletic Conference play at Hiram College Saturday at 6 p.m.
