Box Score Wabash fired two point-blank shots in the first of two overtimes, but Franklin College's pesky defense forced a scoreless tie between the two Indiana soccer teams.
Â
The Little Giants owned a 7-3 edge in shots on goal, including back-to-back efforts by
Steve Magura and
Cory Sims off a corner kick from
Blake Jennings. Franklin's Cody Chapman took the first shot off the chest and managed to get enough of Sims' attempt to keep it out of the net before one of the Grizzlies pounded the ball away from the box.
Â
"This was the first time we didn't get on the scoreboard all year, so props to Franklin for a well-defended game," Wabash Head Coach
Chris Keller said. "They had a good game plan going into the match and had the first half (in their favor) actually. We adjusted and I think we dominated the rest of the game."
Dayton Jennings as equally impressive in net for Wabash. He improved to 3-0-2 for the season by turning away all three shots from Franklin (3-3-1) he faced, including a punch save over the cross bar in the final minute of the first overtime.
Â

Ethan Dove each finished with a shot on goal for Wabash.
