Box Score Wabash got another shutout — the third in as many games — in a 2-0 win at Monmouth Saturday afternoon.
Chase Francoeur earned the start in goal but the result was the same as the previous two outings behind
Dayton Jennings. Francoeur faced one shot in the match.
Adam Antalis picked up his second goal of the year, scoring on an unassisted attempt in the 10th minute. Freshman
Spase Dorsuleski added an insurance goal with his first of the year in the 39th minute.
The Little Giants outshot Monmouth (1-2) 10-1 overall. Nine of the Wabash shots finished on goal.
Wabash head coach
Chris Keller continued the praise of his defense.
"We continue to defend the ball very well, starting from the front line all the way back to Chase in goal. Centerbacks Spase and
Ethan Dove played very well along with
George Vinihakis,
Geno James, and
Rodrigo Porras. Offensively we created plenty of opportunities. We scored the two goals and maybe could have made it three or four total. A great road win, and we're looking forward to returning home Wednesday."
Wabash (3-0) will face Franklin at home Wednesday at 5 p.m.
