Lacrosse Honors Its Past as Part of Saturday Home Contest

Wabash College paid tribute to the founding members of the school's lacrosse club program Saturday as part of its North Coast Athletic Conference contest against Oberlin College. The Little Giants lost 20-1.

Wabash club lacrosse founding members David Coates '99, Nick Prihoda '99, Rob Walker '99, and Jacob Bradley '01 along with club lacrosse alumnus Alex Barnstead '06 were honored at halftime of Saturday's match. A plaque with a photo of the first club lacrosse team was presented to the group and will be placed in a trophy case in the Allen Center later this spring.

Wabash trailed 6-0 in the first period of play before Zach Darabaris tallied his sixth goal of the season late in the first for the only goal of the game for the Little Giants. Oberlin (6-7, 2-4 NCAC) added seven goals in the second period, then scored four goals in the third and three in the fourth.

Senior Todd Hoogland recorded 18 saves, including eight stops in the second half. The Yeomen made six saves on 13 Wabash shots. Darabaris led the Little Giants with five shots. Zach Scarano finished with three, while Dajon Thomas tallied two.

Wabash (1-10, 0-6 NCAC) plays its final home NCAC match Wednesday versus Wittenberg University. The opening faceoff will take place at 4 p.m. at Mud Hollow Stadium
