Wabash closed the 2016 portion of its basketball season and final non-conference game on a high note Friday night with a 101-63 victory at Earlham College.

Colten Garland with a career-high 24 points. Fellow first-year player
Harrison Hallstrom added 20 points to go with 18 from
Ben Stachowski off the bench.
Logan White chipped in 11 points.

Garland drilled a three-pointer three minutes into the contest for a 7-2 lead and sparking a run for Wabash (6-5). The Little Giants continued the scoring attack to eventually take a 33-7 lead with eight minutes remaining in the first half. Wabash used an 18-of-27 shooting effort from the field (66.7 percent), including an 11-of-13 effort from three-point range (84.6 percent) to go to into halftime up 54-21. The Quakers (5-6) were outscored 47-42 in the final period to produce the final 38-point differential.

Wabash shot 61.5 percent from the field overall on 32-of-52 attempts. The Little Giants connected on 12 of their 16 three-point attempts for 75 percent. Garland finished 8-of-12 from the field including 6-of-8 on three-point tries. Hallstrom's 20 points came in a 9-of-12 performance from the field.

The Little Giants' defense also played well, limiting Earlham to 32.2 percent from the field overall on 19-of-59 shooting. Isaiah Waire and Elijah Wilson-Thomas shared high-point honors for the Quakers with nine points apiece.

Wabash opens the new year Wednesday afternoon with a North Coast Athletic Conference game against Allegheny College at Chadwick Court. Tipoff is at 3 p.m. Â
