Erich Lange launched his first collegiate home run in the tenth inning of Sunday's second game between Wabash and Wittenberg to give the Little Giants a 7-6 extra-innings victory. Wabash completed the doubleheader sweep with a 9-0 win in game one.

The Little Giants held a one-run lead entering the bottom of the eighth inning of game two against the host Tigers (6-12, 2-4 NCAC West) before Wittenberg took advantage of a leadoff double by Corey Farnbaugh. A fielder's choice scored Farnbaugh with the tying run. Neither team scored in the ninth, sending the game into extra innings.

The first two batters for Wabash were retired to open the tenth before the freshman catcher belted a drive over the left field fence for his 14
th RBI of the season. Wittenberg put the tying run on base with a leadoff walk in the bottom half of the inning before
Bryan Roberts stranded the runner at third with a two-out strikeout to end the game and earn his third win of the season.

Wabash trailed Wittenberg 2-0 before putting together a three-run fourth inning with RBI singles from
Cole Harlacher and
Tyler Downing in addition to a run-scoring fielder's choice off the bat of Lange. Downing led the Little Giants with three of the team's nine hits in Sunday's finale.

The Tigers added a three-run homer by Dalton Boucher in the fifth to move in front 5-3.
Taylor Canter tied the game in sixth, then scored the go-ahead run on a suicide squeeze bunt single by
Eric Chavez.

Roberts pitched 2-2/3 innings, holding the Tigers to one walk while finishing with the game-ending strikeout.
Michael Herrmann started and threw five innings of ten-hit baseball. He gave up four earned runs with one walk and one strikeout.
Cody Cochran worked 2-1/3 innings of relief, finishing with one earned run on four hits to go with one strikeout.

Wabash scored a pair of runs in the first inning of the opening contest, scoring in all but two of the seven scheduled innings.
KJ Zelenika pounded out three of the Little Giants' 12 hits.
David Oliger added two more doubles to his career-record totals and drew within five of tying the single-season mark of 20 in addition to driving in a pair of runs.
Andrew Roginski added a pair of hits and two RBI, as well.

Jensen Kirch picked up his second complete game and shutout of the season. The junior limited Wittenberg to six hits and one walk over seven innings. He struck out five of the 28 batters he faced to improve to 4-1 for the year with a 1.64 earned run average.

The two wins move Wabash into sole possession of second place in the North Coast Athletic Conference west division with a mark of 4-2 and an overall record of 13-9. The Little Giants and Wittenberg will play the final two games of the season series Wednesday beginning at 2 p.m. at Wittenberg.
