Wabash cranked out 22 runs and 29 hits in a Saturday doubleheader sweep of Ohio Wesleyan to open North Coast Athletic Conference play. The Little Giants won game one 8-6 before rallying for a 14-12 win in game two.

Wabash (11-7, 2-0 NCAC) scored eight runs with two outs in the third inning to erase a 3-0 deficit.
KJ Zelenika and
Tyler Downing each produced two RBI in the inning, while
Cole Harlacher,
Andrew Roginski,
Taylor Canter, and
Eric Chavez each drove in a run to give the Little Giants the lead they would never relinquish.

Jensen Kirch recovered from a rough start, allowing three runs in the first inning, to scatter 10 hits over seven innings to go with two walks and four strikeouts. He surrendered only three earned runs to improve to 3-1 for the season.

David Oliger tied the school record for hits in a game with five in the Little Giants' second win of the day. Chavez drove in a career-best five runs on a pair of hits, while Canter drove in three runs.

Wabash took a 1-0 lead in the second before Ohio Wesleyan (9-5, 0-2 NCAC) erupted for six runs in the third inning. The Little Giants tied the game by scoring five runs in the third, capped by a three-run double off the bat of Chavez.

The teams continued training runs throughout the game until a three-run eighth gave the Battling Bishops a 12-11 lead. Canter put Wabash back in front in the bottom of the eighth with a two-run double before Oliger singled him home with an insurance run.

Cody Cochran picked up his first win of the season, pitching the final two innings and allowing two runs on three hits with three strikeouts and a walk.
Michael Herrmann pitched three innings as the starter. He gave up seven runs on six hits with four walks and a strikeout.
Alex Dickey pitched four innings of relief, holding OWU to two earned runs. He struck out six batters, walked five, and surrendered only two hits.
