A fourth-period rally by the Wabash lacrosse team cut a seven-goal deficit to four with 11 minutes left to play. But visiting DePauw tallied the final five goals of the match for an 18-9 victory at rain-soaked Mud Hollow Stadium Wednesday evening.

A goal from
Steven Stark and two from
Collin Brennan cut into the Tigers' lead during the opening minutes of the fourth period. Brennan finished with five points, all from goals. Stark and Billy Bernhadt each finished with two goals, while
Tucker Dixon joined them with two total points thanks to a pair of assists.

The Little Giants took a 1-0 lead 3:49 into the game when Brennan scored the first of of his five goals in the contest. DePauw responded with two goals before Bernhardt answered with one of his two goals on the day to even the score at 2-2.

The Tigers added two more goals to close out the period at 4-2 and tallied three more in the second, moving in front 7-2. Brennan notched another goal with under three minutes to play in the period to make the score 7-3 at the half.

DePauw (4-6, 1-2 NCAC) opened a wild third period with the first of nine goals between the two teams. The Tigers took an eventual 13-6 lead before Stark started the rally with his 30
th goal of the season. Brennan followed with two more --- goals 30 and 31 of the year --- to cut the lead to 13-9. DePauw closed out the final 10 minutes of the contest with five goals for the final scoring difference.

Wabash fired 21 total shots on goal out of 31 attempts. DePauw attempted 45 total shots with 18 total goals.
Samuel Stewart finished with 11 saves as goalkeeper for the Little Giants. Wabash finished 0-for-2 in extra-man opportunities while DePauw triggered three goals off five Little Giant penalties.
