The 2016 Wabash College baseball season came to an end Sunday afternoon with a 17-4 loss at Wooster in the final game of the North Coast Athletic Conference Crossover Series.

The Little Giants took an early lead for the second consecutive game via the long ball.
Taylor Canter opened the game with a walk ahead of a bunt base hit by
Jared Wolfe. Senior
David Oliger collected his final career hit with a three-run home run to left field to put Wabash in front 3-0.

That lead held until the bottom of the third when the Scots (30-10, 17-2 NCAC) scored five runs in the third, followed by a run in the fourth and six more in the fifth. Wooster tacked on five more runs over the next two innings before
Joe House lifted a sacrifice fly to right to bring home Wolfe from third after the opened the eighth with his second hit of the game.

Oliger finished his career as the Little Giants' all-time leader in doubles (50), double plays turned (94) and ranked third in career hits (192), fourth in total bases (264), and fifth in run scored (114). Oliger broke the single-season hits record with 66 this season and finished second in doubles in a season with 19. He ranks second in Division III as toughest to strike out, averaging 75.5 at bats without striking out.

KJ Zelenika picked up a walk in four plate appearances in his finale. He started all 40 games in his last season at Wabash, collecting 39 hits and 18 RBI. Fellow senior
Christian Vukas served as a student coach for the year, appearing in one game as a starting pitcher.

Wabash finished the season with a 17-23 overall record and a 7-12 mark against NCAC opponents. The Little Giants placed fourth in the final NCAC West Division.
