Wabash and Hiram battled into overtime Saturday before the host Terriers claimed a 75-68 victory in the first of back-to-back road games for the Little Giants.

The two team entered the game tied for fourth place in the North Coast Athletic Conference standings with 2-1 records in conference play. Wabash (3-4, 2-2 NCAC) trailed 7-0 at the outset before battling back with a 16-2 run against the Terriers (4-4, 3-1 NCAC). The Little Giants expanded the lead to ten points with 8:48 remaining in the first half. Hiram responded with a 13-2 run of its own to regain the lead at 25-24 before Wabash took a 34-32 lead into halftime.

The Little Giants jumped the lead to five points in the early minutes of the second half off baskets by
Dalton Vachon and
Alex Eberhard. Hiram came right back, eventually taking the lead by a point. The teams traded the lead six times with one tie until Hiram took a 62-57 lead with 4:26 remaining in regulation. Wabash traded baskets with the Terriers before going on a run sparked by
Colten Garland with a pair of free throws and drive for a basket to even the score at 64-64 with 30 seconds showing on the second half game clock. The Terriers got one last shot away to try and win the game in regulation, but the Little Giants challenged Kelvin Jones' attempt and forced the miss to send the game to overtime.

The Terriers outscored Wabash 11-4 in the extra five-minute session and held the Little Giants without a field goal to earn the victory.

The Terriers took advantage of 18 Wabash turnovers that led to 25 points. The Little Giants won the overall rebounding battle 47-40, but Hiram used 21 offensive boards to score 22 second-chance points. The game featured 10 ties and 10 lead changes throughout the entire 45 minutes of action.

Garland scored a season-high 21 points.
Harrison Hallstrom added 15 points and 14 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. Kelvin Jones scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for Hiram. Terrence Warren and Jalen Kirksey each finished with 16 points for the Terriers.

Wabash continues its weekend road trip with a 2 p.m. game at Allegheny Sunday. The Gators defeated DePauw University 70-57 Saturday behind Jordan Rawls' 29 points and 14 rebounds.       Â
