Wabash College senior
Michael Herrmann pitched a five-hit complete game shutout Monday against Oberlin to close out his career along with the 2017 season for the Little Giants with a 7-0 victory.

Herrmann finished 6-2 with the nine-inning victory, his first shutout of the season and third of his career. He struck out eight and walked only two batters. The victory marked the first complete game of the season for Herrmann and fourth of his career.

The game was scoreless until the fifth inning when
Eric Chavez drilled a single to center to score
Henry Wannemuehler.
Tyler Downing collected one of his team-high three hits in the sixth to bring
Erich Lange home with the second run of the game. Chavez picked up two more RBI in the sixth with a base hit to once again drive Wannemuehler home in addition to scoring Downing.

The Little Giants tacked on three more runs in the ninth inning to put the game away.
Bryce Aldridge laced an RBI double to right field to bring home
Sean Roginski for a 5-0 lead.
Zach Leander made it 6-0 with an RBI single up the middle to plate
Andrew Roginski. Aldridge raced home on a double play ground ball to provide the final 7-0 differential.

Wabash finished with 13 hits in the game. In addition to Downing's three hits, Chavez, Wannemuehler, and
Andrew Roginski picked up two hits apiece.

The Little Giants finish the 2017 campaign with a record of 22-16 with a 7-10 mark against North Coast Athletic Conference opponents. The 22 wins are the most for a Wabash program since finishing 22-22 in 2011 while posting the first winning season for the baseball team since a 23-19 record in 2009.
