With the game tied and Wabash inbounding the basketball with 3.4 seconds left in regulation, everyone's attention in Chadwick Court turned to Little Giants leading scorer

The Little Giants remained undefeated for the season, improving to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in North Coast Athletic Conference games to sit atop the league standings with 14
th-ranked Wittenberg also with a 3-0 NCAC record.

Davidson seemed a likely option for Wabash offensively on the final play for the Little Giants. The sophomore entered the game as the NCAC's leading scorer and earned Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors from the league on Monday. Davidson scored 16 of his game-high 23 points in the second half. He scored ten consecutive points for the Little Giants in the span of 2:30 to trim the Scots' (7-1, 3-1 NCAC) lead from eight points to one at 43-42 with 13:13 remaining in the game.

Wooster maintained its lead throughout the second half and held a 59-57 edge with 4:28 left to play and possession of the basketball. The Scots attempted four consecutive shot attempts in an effort to take a two-possession lead thanks to three offensive rebounds. Wooster dominated the glass all game, particularly on the offensive end. The Scots outrebounded Wabash 50-39 and grabbed 20 offensive boards to account for 14 second-chance points.

Wooster was unable to add to its two-point lead with the series of misses before Eberhard snared the defensive rebound, leading to a Davidson jumper in the paint and drew a foul. He hit the free throw to put Wabash in front 60-59 with 2:31 left on the game clock.

The Scots' Danyon Hempy was fouled on the the next trip down the floor and hit one of two attempts at the line to tie the score at 60-60 with 2:09 remaining. Davidson missed his jumper on the next offensive series for Wabash, followed by a missed shot by Hempy in an attempt to give the Scots the lead.

Neither team could find a go-ahead basket in the closing minutes, including another offensive rebound for Wooster that provided a second opportunity to score but ended in a missed attempt by Hempy, who lead Wooster in scoring with 22 points. The Scots fired a three-point try with eight seconds left that sent both teams scrambling for the rebound off the miss. The ball bounced toward midcourt where
Ben Stachowski covered it and called timeout with 3.4 seconds left to play.

Eberhard triggered the inbound pass in front of the press table for Wabash and hit Schreiber on a back-cut for the easy layup with just over a second to play to put the Little Giants in front by a basket for the first time since holding a a 23-21 lead at the 6:39 mark of the first half.

Wooster had one last opportunity to try to tie or win the game on the final shot, but the half court pass was knocked away by Davidson to give Wabash the victory.

Wabash shot 20-of-56 from the field for 35.7 percent and 5-of-19 from three-point range for 26.3 percent. The visiting Scots finished 24-of-67 from the field (35.8 percent) and 5-of-16 from beyond the arc (31.3 percent). The Little Giants held a major edge in free throw shooting, hitting 17 of their 25 tries from the stripe. Wooster missed half of its free throw attempts, going 7-of-14 from the line for the game.

Schreiber joined Davidson in double-figure scoring for Wabash with 11 points. The Little Giant bench outscored Wooster 22-9 for the game. Stachowski led the the team with ten rebounds.

Eric Bulic and Reece Dupler each scored 11 points for Wooster. Bulic recorded a double-double by adding 12 rebound to his box score totals.

Wabash returns to action December 17 with a 7 p.m. contest at Franklin College.
