Wabash scored three runs in the first inning and never looked back, earning a berth in Saturday's championship round of the 2018 North Coast Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament after a 7-3 victory over second-ranked Wooster Friday afternoon in Chillicothe, Ohio.
The Little Giants (27-15) extend their record of wins in a season after eclipsing the previous mark of 25 set in 1997 and matched in 1998. Wabash won its 26
th game of the year Thursday night with a 4-2 victory over Denison in the opening round of the tournament.

Wabash opened the game with a double by
Jared Wolfe and a single from
Sean Roginski to put runners on the corners. A balk brought the first run home for the Little Giants before
Bryce Aldridge was hit by a pitch to keep two runners on base.
Andrew Jumonville's first of two successful sacrifice bunts in the game.
Jackson Blevins provided a sacrifice fly to make it a 2-0 game. A single from
Matthew Annee drove Aldridge in with a third run to stake the Little Giants to the early lead.

Roginski led off the third inning with a single and eventually scored on a groundout by Blevins to stretch the lead to 4-0.

Those were all the runs starter
Cody Cochran would need. The senior right hander picked up his seventh victory of the season, pitching six innings of four-hit baseball. He limited the Scots (35-7) to a pair of runs in the fifth inning and another in the sixth to cut the lead to 4-3. Cochran struck out one batter and walked four.

Zach Moffett came in in the seventh inning and closed out the contest for the Little Giants. The sophomore reliever entered the game with a man on and no outs. He retired the next three hitters he faced in the seventh and limited the Scots to one hit over the next two innings to earn his eighth save of the season and tenth of his career, breaking the Wabash school record of nine career saves set by Keegan Leckrone.

Wabash tacked on three insurance runs in the ninth inning, scoring on a Wooster throwing and RBI singles by Wolfe and Aldridge to lock up the win.
Blevins drove in a pair of runs with a two-hit effort for the game. Wolfe and Roginski each added two hits apiece, as well.
Wabash advances to the championship game of the NCAC Tournament for the first time since winning the conference title in 2011. The Little Giants defeated Ohio Wesleyan 5-2 to capture the title and earn the team's first berth in the NCAA tournament.
The Little Giants will play the Scots in Saturday's championship game at 11 a.m. at VA Memorial Stadium. Wooster defeated Denison 4-2 Friday night to earn a spot in Saturday's title game.
