Wabash broke the school record for total points and field goals made in a game in the Little Giants' 137-131 victory Friday evening over Greenville University in the first game of the Nicholas Investments Thanksgiving Tournament hosted by Carroll University.

Wabash (2-1) made a record 56 field goals and shot 67.5 percent from the field (56-of-83). The Little Giants also handed out 32 assists in the game for the second-most in a contest for a Wabash team.

Despite the record-setting performance the Little Giants needed strong second half to secure the victory after leading at halftime by only two points, 65-63. Greenville (1-4) ran a full-court press and played a style known as "The System" to take advantage of any Wabash turnovers in an effort to produce quick points. The Panthers took a total of 116 shots and created 35 Wabash turnovers and scored 49 points including 24 second-chance points and 14 points on fast breaks. Greenville shot 23-of-60 from three-point range for the game.

 Wabash held an 11-point lead at 85-74 five minutes into the second half before the Panthers score three consecutive three-point baskets to draw within two points once again at 85-83. Wabash held its two-point advantage until Greenville's Barry Nixon drilled a three-point shot to give the Panthers a 92-91 lead with 11:57 left to play as part of 18 lead changes in the game. Another Greenville basket extended the lead to 94-91.

The Little Giants trailed Greenville 102-96 before Wabash went on a 9-3 run over the span of two minutes to tie the score at 105-105. The Panthers pushed their advantage back to five points before baskets by
Jayden Edwards,
Tyler Watson, and
Kellen Schreiber returned the lead to the Little Giants at 111-110. An Edwards layup in response to a three-point basket by Sontiago Grady gave Wabash a one-point lead. The teams traded baskets until
Harrison Hallstrom scored inside for a 118-115 Wabash lead. Grady struck again for Greenville, hitting another three-point shot to even the score at 121-121 with just over three minutes remaining in the game.

Wabash used a 6-0 run over the next minute and a half before Schreiber added a jumper in the paint with 1:21 left in the game for a 131-123 advantage for the Little Giants. Wabash held on down the stretch, answering each basket by the Panthers to advance to Saturday's championship game.

Six Little Giants scored in double figures led by the 34-point effort of
Jack Davidson. The junior guard grabbed seven rebounds and handed out six assists. Hallstrom scored 28 points with six rebounds.
Ahmoni Jones added a career-best 24 points with eight rebounds. Watson finished with 17 points and six assists. Schreiber picked up his first career double-double with 14 points and 11 boards. Edwards scored 10 points with eight rebounds.
Connor Rotterman gave out 11 assists for the second-most assists in a game by a Wabash player.

Grady scored a team-best 21 points for Greenville. Nixon added a 20-point effort for the Panthers.

Wabash plays host Carroll University Saturday at 4 p.m. CST in the championship game. The Pioneers defeated Simpson College in Friday's second game 71-70.
