Wabash saw its trip through the 2019 North Coast Athletic Conference Basketball Tournament come to an end Friday evening with an 89-75 loss to Wittenberg University in the semifinal game played at the College of Wooster.

The third-seeded Little Giants (21-6) matched second-seeded Wittenberg (22-5) score for score in the first five minutes of the game before the Tigers claimed a five-point lead at 14-9. Wabash eventually tied the game at 21-21 when
Jack Davidson drove to the basket for a layup midway through the first half. Davidson added a free throw to complete a three-point play to give Wabash its only lead of the game at 22-21. The Tigers responded with a 14-0 run over the next four-and-a-half minutes. Wittenberg eventually claimed a 17-point lead before sending both teams to the locker room with a 46-31 lead at halftime.

Wabash outscored the Tigers 12-2 over the first five minutes of the second period to trim the score to 48-43. The Little Giants would get no closer as Wittenberg reclaimed a double-digit lead at 54-43. Wabash made one final run at the Tigers by narrowing the score to 58-52 with 9:53 left to play. The Tigers pushed their advantage back to 12 a minute later before advancing to Saturday's championship game of the tournament with the 14-point victory.

Harrison Hallstrom scored a game-high 22 points for Wabash and grabbed seven rebounds. He shot an efficient 10-of-14 from the field as part of a 29-of-58 shooting effort for the Little Giants. Davidson added 14 points along with 13 points from
Tyler Watson. James Johnson led Wittenberg with 19 points. Connor Seipel and Jake Bertemes each finished with 17 points. Jordan scored points.

Wabash will wait to learn if its season will continue in the NCAA Division III Tournament when the field is announced Monday, February 25. The Little Giants were eighth in the latest Great Lakes regional rankings released on Wednesday prior to the selection announcement.
