The Wabash tennis team split two matches against Chicago-land teams on Saturday. The Little Giants lost 5-4 to Wheaton College after posting a 9-0 victory against Elmhurst Saturday morning.

Wabash (2-5) opened with three doubles wins against the BlueJays (1-3), starting with an 8-2 victory by the number one doubles team of
Patrick McAuley and
Jordan Greenwell.
Andrew Denning and
Duncan Roy combined for an 8-1 win at number two doubles.
Nieshaal Thambipillay and
Lukas Senn picked up an 8-7 win with an 8-6 score in the tiebreaker.

McAuley cruised to a straight-sets 6-2, 6-1 victory at number one singles versus Elmhurst. Greenwell did not lose a game at number two singles with a 6-0, 6-0 victory. Denning picked up a 7-5, 6-4 win in the third singles flight. Roy scored a 6-1, 6-2 win at number four singles. Thambipillay earned a 6-0, 6-4 win at fifth singles before
Evan Frank completed the shutout by winning 6-2, 6-0 at number six singles.

The Little Giants trailed 2-1 in the afternoon match versus Wheaton College (2-3) after McAuley and Greenwell scored the only win in doubles play at 8-7 in the first flight. Greenwell picked up a 7-5, 6-0 straight sets win at number two singles for Wabash. Denning scored a 6-2, 6-3 win at number four singles. Thambipillay played a three-set match at number five singles, winning 6-1, 2-6, 7-6 (15-13).

Wabash will travel to Orlando, Florida from March 3 to March 10 to compete in five matches during spring break.
