Wabash scored five runs in the second inning, three in the third, and four in the fifth on the way to a 17-10 win over Edgewood College Saturday afternoon to begin a three-game home stand against Eagles.

The Little Giants improved to 8-7 with the victory thanks to 11 hits and 14 walks.
Eric Chavez collected three of Wabash's 11 hits, with
Andrew Jumonville,
Matthew Annee,
Nick Chao,
Erich Lange,
CJ Landrum,
Jared Wolfe,
Henry Wannemuehler, and
Austin Simmers each adding one hit to the team totals. Annee drove in four runs in the game while Chavez, Wolfe, and
Jackson Blevins each finished with two RBI.

Wabash plated a run in the first inning on a sacrifice fly by Annee for 1-0 lead. Blevins picked up an RBI with a bases-loaded walk in the second to start the five-run inning for Wabash while also extending his streak of consecutive games reaching base safely to 12 games. Jumonville reached base for the tenth consecutive game with an RBI single through the left side to score
Sean Roginski and Wolfe. Annee picked up two more RBI in the inning to complete the five-run tally in the frame with a triple that brought home Jumonville and Blevins.

Edgewood (2-7) answered with a pair of runs in the top of the third off starter
Kase Lawson, but the Little Giants responded with a three-run bottom of the third on an RBI single by Chavez, and RBI ground out by Blevins, and a sacrifice fly by Annee. Lange scored a run in the fourth inning on a wild pitch after walking to start the inning to give Wabash a 10-2 lead. Four more runs scored in the fifth inning for Wabash thanks to an RBI single by Lange, a two-run triple by Wolfe, and an RBI ground out by Wannemuehler.

Simmers produced an RBI single in the seventh inning to push Wabash lead to 15-3 after the Eagles scored in the top of the seventh. Chavez picked up his second RBI of the game with a single to push the lead to 16-3. Edgewood produced its biggest inning of the game, scoring six in the eighth off seven hits and one walk off reliever
Dustin Notter.
Logan Butrum took over for Notter and retired four of the seven batters he faced, allowing one run on one hit and one walk.

Lawson was strong through seven innings to earn his second win in five starts for Wabash. He gave up three runs and two walks while scattering 11 hits. Lawson struck out two batters.

The two teams resume the series Sunday beginning at noon at Goodrich Ballpark. The current schedule calls for a single seven-inning game followed by a nine-inning contest.
