Little Giants Sweep Monday Tennis Matches in Florida

The Wabash tennis team scored two victories Monday in Florida as part of its spring break trip. The Little Giants defeated Penn State Berks 8-1 in the early afternoon match before defeating Adrian College 6-3 in the nightcap played at the US Tennis Association National Campus in Orlando.
 
Wabash (6-5) swept through double play against Berks (1-4) to take the early 3-0 lead. Patrick McAuley and Jordan Greenwell combined for an 8-4 victory at number one doubles. Duncan Roy and Nieshaal Thambipillay claimed an 8-1 victory in the second doubles flight. Lukas Senn and Evan Frank won all eight games of their third doubles contest for an 8-0 victory.
 
McAuley won in straight sets 6-2, 7-5 to start off singles' play in the first flight. Greenwell produced a perfect 6-0, 6-0 win at number two singles, as did Duncan Roy in the third singles flight. Thambipillay won his fourth singles match 6-0, 6-1. Frank picked up a victory at number five singles by the same 6-0, 6-1 score.
 
McAuley and Greenwell won 8-3 in their number one doubles match against Adrian (2-5) Monday evening to start the Little Giants on the way to their victory over the Bulldogs. Frank and Senn added an 8-6 win at number three doubles.
 
McAuley won 6-2, 6-1 in his number one singles match. Greenwell picked up a 6-3, 6-0 win in the second singles flight. Roy earned a 6-1, 6-4 victory in the third flight, while Thambipillay closed out the final win for Wabash with a 6-1, 6-4 score at number four singles.
 
The Little Giants will close out their Florida competition on Wednesday with a match against the State University of New York College at Oneonta.
