Wabash Leads NCAC Men's Standings Through the Winter Sports Season

Wabash's North Coast Athletic Conference Championship in track and field helped the College maintain its lead in the NCAC Men's All-Sports standings.

Wabash ended the winter sports season with 49 points, leading Wooster in second place with 42.5 points. DePauw sits in third place in the men's standings with 41.5 points with Denison in fourth place with a total of 38.5 points.

Ten points are awarded for a first-place finish in the final conference standings for each sport, nine for second place, eight for third, and so on. Wabash does not receive any points for its fourth-ranked wrestling program since that sport is not sponsored by the NCAC.

Wabash's teams finished in the top-four in all of the conference-sponsored winter sports.

"The latest all-sports standings reflect the continued high-level performance of our student-athletes in the competitive North Coast Athletic Conference," said Matt Tanney, Wabash director of athletics and campus wellness. "As we begin the spring season, it is also a reminder of the tremendous commitment and support of our coaches and staff that enables our student-athletes' success on and off the field."

In addition to its indoor track and field title that earned 10 points, the Little Giants finished in a tie for second place in the regular season men's basketball standings with a 14-4 league record; Wabash was 21-6 overall.  Wabash added a fourth-place finish at the NCAC Swimming and Diving Championships in mid-February.

The indoor track and field title is the 24th NCAC championship earned by a Wabash team since joining the conference in 1999.
