The Wabash tennis team began its two-day weekend trip to Ohio on Friday night with a North Coast Athletic Conference West Division match against 24th-ranked Denison University. The Little Giants picked up a win at in the doubles portion of the evening for its lone point in an 8-1 loss to the Big Red.
The Wabash (8-11, 0-2 NCAC West) number one doubles flight of
Patrick McAuley and
Andrew Denning earned an 8-2 win in their match to put the Little Giants down 2-1.
Duncan Roy forced a third set in singles play in the third flight by winning the second set of his match 6-3 after dropping the first set 6-1. His opponent, Mitchell Thai, won the third set 10-6 to claim the team point.
The Little Giants will complete their weekend series on Saturday with a 10 a.m. contest at Wittenberg University.
