Screenings are quick medical tests used to identify signs or symptoms of a health condition early on, when they may be easier to treat. Taking care of yourself prevents health problems and can save on the cost of treating diseases in the long run – the cost to your health and your wallet.
Getting recommended screening tests for heart and vascular disease is one of the most important things you can do for your health because young and old can develop heart problems. The rise in obesity, diabetes and smoking at earlier ages only adds to the risk. Uncontrolled high blood pressure, high cholesterol and congenital heart defects should not go undetected. Heart-related conditions can usually be prevented if identified early and treated.
