Wabash took a 14-0 first-quarter lead over Oberlin and never looked back, defeating the visiting Yeomen 49-20 at Little Giant Stadium Saturday afternoon.

The Little Giants improved to 5-0 for the season with a 4-0 record in North Coast Athletic Conference games. Wabash and DePauw remain the only undefeated teams in the conference standings after the Indiana Tigers defeated Wittenberg in Springfield, Ohio.

Wabash cranked out 459 yards of offense with quarterback
Liam Thompson throwing for 255 yards and two touchdowns, completing 16-of-20 pass attempts. He also ran eight times for 41 yards and produced one of four rushing touchdowns for the Little Giants.

Donovan Snyder started the scoring for Wabash with a one-yard run in the first five minutes of the game.
Cade Campbell provided the  14-0 lead when he pounded into the end zone on a two-yard rush to cap a 10-play, 69-yard drive.

The Yeomen (0-6, 0-5 NCAC) responded with an eight-play, 62-yard drive that ended in a nine-yard touchdown pass from Chris Allen, Jr. to Brian Colarusso midway through the second period. Wabash came back with a quick-strike attack, racing 75 yards on two plays to answer the Oberlin score.
Nick Hamman caught a 38-yard pass from Thompson that set up a 37-yard scoring strike to
Cooper Sullivan to put Wabash in front 21-6.

The Wabash defense got the ball back in the hands of the offense on the very next play from scrimmage. Linebacker
Clayton McPeek pressured the Oberlin quarterback Allen and forced a hurried throw. Cornerback
Jose Franco knocked the pass forward into the waiting arms of safety
Will Netting for an interception to set up a short field for the Little Giants.

Thompson capitalized on a 13-yard touchdown pass to Snyder to increase the Wabash lead to 28-6. Thompson stretched the advantage to 35-6 with a 14-yard touchdown run just prior to the end of the first half.

Oberlin hit a big play on its next possession on a 48-yard pass from Allen to Colarusso. The Yeomen's drive stalled four plays later to force a field goal attempt. Franco once again proved to be a thorn in the side of the Oberlin team, blocking the 39-yard try.
Casey Crozier scooped up the loose ball at the 27-yard line and raced 73 yards for a touchdown to put Wabash in front 36-6.

The Little Giants turned to backup quarterback
Blake White on their next offensive possession after Oberlin scored on an 85-yard catch and run by Bear Broyles from Allen. The Yeomen quarterback threw for 371 yards and two scores while completing 23-of-44 passes with two interceptions.

White led the Wabash offense on an 11-play, 70-yard drive that clipped almost seven minutes off the third-quarter clock. The freshman QB capped the drive with a six-yard TD run to push the Wabash lead to 49-14. Oberlin added a late score in the final two minutes of the game for the 49-20 final.

Hamman caught five passes for a team-best 101 yards.
Derek Allen caught a team-best seven passes for 56 yards. Eight different Wabash players finished the game with at least one reception.
Noah Bierma led the Wabash ground game with 10 carries for 68 yards. Snyder ran for 57 yards and one score on 13 attempts.

Franco led the Little Giants on defense with six total tackles, including four solo stops. He broke up two passes in addition to the one blocked kick.
Giovonni Zappala recorded Wabash's second interception of the game and returned the pick 19 yards. Zappala also blocked an extra-point attempt by the Yeomen. Crozier and
Josh Myers both picked up tackles for loss, with Crozier's coming on an 11-yard sack of Allen.

Wabash will complete its two-game homestand with a conference contest against the College of Wooster on Saturday, October 16 beginning at 1 p.m.
