Wabash Swept By Denison With Home Lacrosse Loss

Wabash matched an early goal by ninth-ranked Denison to tie the score at 1-1 two minutes into Saturday's North Coast Athletic Conference lacrosse contest. The Little Giants were outscored in the remainder of the contest in a 32-4 loss to the visiting Big Red.
 
AJ Shaheen scored a goal 2:01 into the contest off a pass from AJ Rogers to event the score at 1-1 after Denison (4-1, 3-1 NCAC West) picked up the first goal of the game by Sam Asman. The Big Red scored the five goals of the period before Anthony Nguyen notched his first of three goals in the contest for Wabash (4-5, 0-4 NCAC West) on a pass from Cody Bevelhimer. Nguyen scored two unassisted goals in second period to give a team-high 21 goals for the year.
 
Stephen Krajcir made six saves in goal for Wabash through three periods. Jack Sullivan played goalkeeper in the final period and did not face a shot attempt.
 
Evan Schiefelbein recorded a team-best four ground balls and six caused turnovers for Wabash.
 
The Little Giants return to action on Wednesday, April 14 for a home contest against Ohio Wesleyan University at 5 p.m.
