GREENCASTLE, Indiana -- Wabash scored a goal in the ninth minute of Wednesday's match and made it hold up on a saved penalty kick seven minutes later for a 1-0 victory at DePauw. The Little Giants' shutout victory is the first in Greencastle by a Wabash team since a 2-1 win in 2017.

The victory boosted Wabash's record to 10-4-1 overall and 3-2-0 in North Coast Athletic Conference action. DePauw falls to 5-6-4 overall and 0-4-1 in NCAC play.

Wabash took a 1-0 lead when Caleb Castaño notched his fifth goal of the season in the ninth minute. The lone goal held in the 1-0 match. Soren Russell made the save of the match in the 16th minute with a diving save on a penalty kick by DePauw's Sam Thiel.  Russell finished the contest with three saves overall while earning his seventh win of the season in goal for the Little Giants.
