Wabash Adds Three To Athletics Staff

Two alumni and a newcomer join the Wabash College athletics staff. Clark Tinder returns to campus as assistant director of facilities, equipment, and game operations. Max Bishop rejoined the Wabash wrestling program as an assistant coach. Aaron Jacobs begins his duties as an assistant basketball coach for the Little Giants.

Tinder returns to his alma mater as assistant director of facilities, equipment, and game operations. He joins the Wabash administrative staff after working at Ball State University as a graduate assistant for student development and administration and as part of the Cardinals' game-day operations staff. While at Ball State, Tinder earned a master's degree in sports administration in May 2022.

Tinder graduated from Wabash in 2020, earning a bachelor's degree in political science. He served as vice president of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, was president of the Sphinx Club, and was a staff writer for The Bachelor, the weekly Wabash newspaper. Tinder also worked as a manager and student assistant on the Little Giants' basketball team for two seasons.

Bishop started as a member of the Wabash wrestling coaching staff in September after four seasons as a competitor on the Little Giant team. He earned All-America honors in 2020 at heavyweight. Bishop captured the 2022 NCAA Division III Central Region title at heavyweight and was named that tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler. He finished the 2021-2022 season as a national qualifier and a 33-3 overall record.

Bishop earned his first trip to the NCAA DIII national tournament in 2020 with a second-place finish at the Central Region Tournament. He received All-America honors after the 2020 national championship event was canceled due to the pandemic and completed the season with a record of 29-4. Bishop completed his Wabash wrestling career with an overall record of 125-21.

Bishop graduated from Wabash in May 2022 with a bachelor's degree as a rhetoric major.

Jacobs joined the Wabash College basketball coaching staff after serving as an assistant coach at Wisconsin Lutheran College for the 2021-2022 season. He helped the Warriors to a 16-9 record and quarterfinal round appearance in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Tournament. Wisconsin Lutheran ranked 21st in the nation (4.5) and led the NACC in turnover margin, as well as topping the conference list in scoring margin (7.5) and offensive rebounds per game (13.52).

Jacobs earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Lakeland University in 2021. He played one season for Muskies after playing at Holy Family College from 2017-2020. Jacobs is currently working towards a master's degree in leadership.

All three have already started their positions.
