Wabash Picks Up Sixth Win With Victory Over DII Bemidji State

Wabash rallied from a 2-0 deficit to win its sixth victory of the season. The Little Giants defeated the Division II baseball program from Bemidji State University 3-2 on Thursday in Tucson, Arizona.

Wabash (6-1) trailed Bemidji State (3-10) after the Beavers scored a run in the third inning and another in the fourth. The Little Giants plated a run in the sixth inning on an RBI single by Felix Valero. Wabash took the lead in the seventh when AJ Reid crushed a triple that brought Camden Scheidt and Noah Luebbehusen home with the tying and winning runs.

Reid and Valero each had two hits for Wabash. Luebbehusen, Kamden Earley, Liam Patton, and Evan Nueukam each collected one hit apiece.

Starter Tavic Simmons pitched six innings of eight-hit baseball to earn his second win of the season. He allowed one earned run and one walk and finished with eight strikeouts. Braeden Bryant pitched two innings of scoreless relief. He walked one batter and struck out two batters. Reid came on in the ninth inning to retire the final three batters to earn his first save of the season.
