A solid pitching performance from
Dylan Scheid and a 14-run slugfest led the Wabash baseball team to a Sunday sweep of Hanover.

Scheid threw a complete-game shutout to lead Wabash (9-2)Â to a 3-0 victory in game one. Scheid struck out 13 batters over nine innings to tie for the second-most strikeouts in a game with 13. He scattered three hits over nine innings and allowed a total of seven base runners with two walks and two hit batsmen on 131 total pitches. Only three leadoff batters reached base for Hanover (3-9). The Panthers never got a baserunner past second base in the game.

Wabash scored the only runs it needed in the second inning.
Camden Scheidt opened the inning with a double down the right-field line, then scored on a single by
Felix Valero.
Kamden Earley drove Valero home with the second run of the inning three batters later on a ground out to second.

The Little Giants added another run in the seventh on an RBI double by
Evan Neukam.

Scheidt, Valero, and
Austin Simmers led the offense with two hits apiece. Wabash finished the first game with nine total hits and five walks in the game.

The Little Giants scored in every inning except one in a 14-1 victory in game two against the Panthers. Shortstop
AJ Reid drove on four runs on three hits. He also earned two walks in the game. Simmers and
Liam Patton each added three RBI on two hits apiece. Earley,
Julian Rutherford, Valero, and
Reece Bauer each drove in a run for Wabash in the victory.

Jacob Bishop improved to 2-1 on the season by pitching five innings of three-hit shutout baseball. He struck out five batters and walked two.
Derek Haslett struck out two batters in two innings of relief work.
Grant Stratton gave up one run on two hits in the eighth inning.
Sam Phillips struck out all three batters he faced in the ninth inning to close out the game.

Wabash will travel to Richmond, Indiana on Wednesday to play Earlham College at 5 p.m.
