Wabash traveled to Ohio Friday evening to open with the first of two weekend Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League matches. The Little Giants lost Friday's contest at Baldwin Wallace University by a score of 3-0.

Wabash (3-15, 0-5 MCVL)Â trailed early in the first set and was never able to recover. The Little Giants fell behind 5-1 and could not get closer than three points at 13-10. The Yellow Jackets (8-16, 3-3 MCVL) went on to win the first set 25-18.

The Little Giants jumped in front 3-0 in the second set and held an 11-9 lead after a kill by
Carson Meadors. Baldwin Wallace responded with seven consecutive points to take a 16-11 lead. Wabash never recovered, eventually losing the set 25-14.

Wabash remained close with BW in the third set until the host Yellow Jackets moved in front 12-8. Baldwin Wallace maintained the lead throughout the remainder of the set to claim a 25-19 victory and 3-0 overall win.

Ricky Session led the Wabash offense with 13 kills. He finished the match with a .476 attack percentage. Sessions also recorded a .967 reception percentage on 30 attempts with only one receiving error.
Jackson Leeper turned in a .556 attack percentage with six kills.
Will Beikes paced the Little Giants with 26 assists. Â Meadors and Sessions each had a team-best eight digs.

Wabash completes its two-game weekend on Saturday with a 1 p.m. match at the University of Mount Union.
