Wabash faced one of the top teams in the Midwest Collegiate Volleyball League Saturday afternoon when the Little Giants traveled to St. Louis to play Fontbonne University. Wabash lost to the host Griffins 3-0.

Wabash (2-11, 0-2 MCVL) was never able to get a lead against Fontbonne (12-3, 3-0 MCVL), the league co-leader along with Mount Union. The Little Giants tied the first set twice before Fontbonned raced out to an 11-5 lead. The Griffins won the opening set 25-17. 

Fontbonne scored the first five points of the second set on the way to another 25-17 win. Wabash rallied in the third set from a 24-15 deficit to score the next five points before the Griffins picked up the final point to win the third set. 

Ricky Sessions led the Wabash offense with seven kills. Luke Davis added six kills. Zachary Small finished the match with 20 assists. Sessions and Luis Rivera each posted seven digs to lead the Little Giants in that category.

Wabash will compete at the Illinois Institute of Technology on Friday, March 11 before returning to Chadwick Court for a home match on March 13 versus Wisconsin Lutheran.
