Wabash rallied for two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning of the first game of its doubleheader against The College of Wooster Saturday afternoon but could not push the tying run across the plate in a 4-3 loss. The Little Giants lost 12-7 in game two of the North Coast Athletic Conference twin bill.

Wabash (14-11, 0-8 NCAC) trailed 1-0 after Wooster (16-8, 5-3) scored a run in the top half of the fourth inning.
Liam Patton delivered a game-tying single to score
Austin Simmers from second base. The Fighting Scots took a 2-1 lead by scoring a run in the sixth inning and added two more runs in the seventh to move in front 4-1.

Noah Luebbehusen led off the ninth inning with a pinch-hit single and advanced to second on a throwing error.
Adam Oxley followed with a pinch-hit single to third.
Michael Galanos pinch-ran for Oxley and both Galanos and Luebbehusen moved up 90 feet on a wild pitch.
Reece Bauer brought home the first run of the inning for the Little Giants with a single to left field to score Luebbehusen.

Camden Scheidt followed with a fielder's choice on a ground ball to second to bring Galanos home to cut the deficit to 4-3. A walk by Simmers put the game-tying run at second base, but Wabash ended the game with a popup on the infield, one of nine total in the game, and a flyout to right field. The Little Giants were retired on 17 flyouts in the game to go with four strikeouts while hitting into only five groundball outs.

Wabash collected nine hits overall equally split between Scheidt, Simmers, Patton, Luebbehusen, Oxley, Bauer,
AJ Reid,
Evan Neukam, and
Kamden Earley.

Dylan Scheid suffered his third loss of the season after pitching 6-2/3 innings. He gave up three earned runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out five batters.
Sam Phillips pitched the final 2-1/3 innings, allowing only two hits while striking out three.

Wabash took a 2-0 lead in game two on an RBi single by Earley and a sacrifice fly from Felix Velaro in the second inning. The Scots scored two runs in the third inning to tie the game before moving in front for good with a three-run third inning.

Neukam drove in a run in the fifth inning to cut the Wooster lead to 5-3 but Wooster responded with another three runs in the sixth inning and four more in the seventh to extend the advantage to 12-3.
Tommy Hansen and Luebbehusen each drove in a run in the bottom of the seventh for Wabash. The Little Giants scored two more runs in the ninth inning on an error on an infield popup and a sacrifice fly by Bauer.

Simmers, Reid, and Neukam each had two of the Little Giants' 10 hits in the game.

Grant Stratton lost for the first time this season after pitching four innings. He gave up nine hits and two walks for five runs and struck out three.
Gavin Patrick,
Braeden Bryant,
Robbie Manuzzi, and
Jacob Cox all pitched in relief for the Little Giants. Patrick gave up three hits and two walks for three unearned runs. Bryant surrendered three runs on three hits and one walk. Manuzzi allowed one earned run on two hits with two strikeouts. Cox pitched a perfect eighth and ninth inning, striking out three batters.

The Little Giants jump back into action Tuesday afternoon with a home doubleheader against Ohio Wesleyan University. Game one begins at noon at Goodrich Ballpark.
