Evan Schiefelbein broke the Wabash single-season record for caused turnovers on Tuesday in the Little Giants' 28-3 home North Coast Athletic Conference lacrosse loss to Ohio Wesleyan.

Schiefelbein generated three caused turnovers for Wabash (3-12, 0-8 NCAC) to pass Scott Purucker's previous season-high mark of 42 set in 2016. Schiefelbein's three turnovers give him 45 for the year with one game remaining in the season.

Wabash scored a man-down goal early in the third period and added two more goals over that 15-minute session.
Anthony Nguyen scored his 16th goal of the season after a Wabash (3-12, 0-8 NCAC) penalty after the Little Giants cleared the ball downfield. Nguyen scooped up a loose ball in the offensive end and rushed the net to put the first score on the board for Wabash with 12:39 remaining in the third period.

Nguyen added another goal five minutes later with an unassisted attempt to give him 17 for the season.
Joseph Plencner scored the final goal of the night for the Little Giants by picking up his team-leading 24th goal with 2:28 remaining in the third period.

Nguyen and Plencner each finished with two shots on goal. Plencner led the team with six total shot attempts. Nguyen took five total shots. Josh Tayler added four shot attempts.

Schiefelbein scooped up four ground balls to lead the Little Giants on the evening.

Stephen Krajcir faced a total of 75 shot attempts from Ohio Wesleyan (10-4, 7-1 NCAC). He recorded 16 saves overall in the contest.

Wabash held Ohio Wesleyan scoreless on three extra-man opportunities while scoring on one of the three penalty situations. The Little Giants were 0-2 on extra-man tries.

Wabash closes out the 2022 season on Saturday with a 1 p.m. contest at Hiram College.
