The Wabash tennis team scored an early win in doubles play and added two more singles victories but could not overcome in-state rival Hanover in a 6-3 road loss to the Panthers Thursday evening.

Reed Mathis helped Wabash (6-9) earn two team points. Mathis scored a straight-sets win at number six singles by scores of 6-2, 6-4 after combining with
Christan Zimmerman at number three doubles for a victory. The twosome won 8-7 with a 7-4 victory in the tiebreaking game.

Liam Grennnon picked up the final team point for the Little Giants with a 7-6 (5), 6-7 (4), 10-5 victory in the third singles' flight.

Wabash returns to play in the North Coast Athletic Western Division on Saturday with a road match at Denison set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
