Wabash College Director of Athletics and Campus Wellness Matt Tanney announced that Coach Clyde Morgan begins new duties as Assistant Athletics Director for Scholar Athlete Development. Morgan adds these new responsibilities to his current role as Director of Track and Field and Cross Country for the Little Giants.
 
"Coach Morgan has mentored countless Wabash men for the past 14 years through his leadership as director of the track and field and cross country teams and his work at The Malcolm X Institute of Black Studies," Tanney said. "I'm grateful he's stepping into this role to lend his expertise and experience to facilitate leadership and growth opportunities for all Wabash scholar-athletes."
 
 
Morgan's new duties include identifying programming, speakers, and activities for Wabash students and working with coaches, staff, and students on various program initiatives. Morgan will also coordinate efforts within the athletics department to maximize resources, planning, and scheduling with the greater Wabash campus community. He will assist in providing an environment of inclusivity, growth, and personal development among scholar-athletes and will assist in leading the Wabash Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
 
Morgan begins his 15^th season as head track and field coach at Wabash. During that time, he guided the program to 17 overall North Coast Athletic Conference championships, including eight indoor and nine outdoor titles. The Little Giants captured both the 2022 indoor and outdoor championships, earning Morgan and his staff Coach of the Year honors. A total of 174 Wabash track and field student-athletes have earned individual conference championships, with 544 earning all-conference honors over the past 14 seasons. Morgan was named the Director of track and field and cross country programs in 2018.
 
"I am extremely excited about the opportunity to help develop our scholar-athletes as a whole," Morgan said. "Positive relationships matter, as well as positive and effective leadership. We have a phenomenal group of administrators and coaches who I will be leaning on to help take the development of our scholar-athletes to the next level. The development of these young men is important to our department, campus, and community."
 
Morgan's new duties begin immediately.
