OBERLIN, Ohio -- Wabash fought back from a 1-0 deficit to beat Oberlin 3-2 Saturday in the Little Giant soccer team's North Coast Athletic road opener.
Wabash improved to 8-2-0 overall and 1-0-0 in NCAC action after the victory.
How it Happened
Oberlin (3-4, 0-1 NCAC)Â took a 1-0 lead when Xander Francoeur scored in the 18th minute, assisted by Toby Wells-Zimmerman.
The Little Giants leveled the game on a goal from Alexis Delgado -- his fourth goal of the season -- in the 47th minute, assisted by Caleb Castano.
Wabash then busted up the 1-1 draw on Jesse Martinez's 49th-minute goal, his second of the season.
The Little Giants went on top 3-1 with a 65th-minute goal from Martinez, his third goal of the season.The goal game off a rebound from a defender and was a blast into the upper-left corner of the net for the eventual game-winning score.
Oberlin narrowed the gap on Wabash to make it a 3-2 game on Wells-Zimmerman's goal in the 79th minute, assisted by Jon Schafer. The goal finished off the 3-2 match.
