Wabash College freshman
Quinn Fitzgerald tied the NCAA Division III men's lacrosse single-game record with 13 goals in Saturday's 21-6 victory by the Little Giants over Concordia University - Chicago. Fitzgerald added two assists to score 15 points to tie the North Coast Athletic Conference single-game mark.
Fitzgerald matched the record of 13 goals first set by Ed Ryder from SUNY Oneonta in a game against FDU-Florham in 1987. Tim Chapman from Gordon scored 13 goals against the University of New England in 2001 to tie Ryder's record.
Fitzgerald equaled the conference record of 15 points held by Ohio Wesleyan's Andy Greaves in a game against Oberlin in 1993.
Fitzgerald's 15 goals came on 20 total shot attempts. He started the scoring with his first goal and 10th of the season three minutes into the contest. Fitzgerald added a man-up goal midway through the first period to put Wabash (3-0) up 2-0.
Ethan Stonis scored two of his six goals in the game one minute later to provide a 4-0 lead. Concordia (0-4) answered with two goals to cut the Wabash lead to 4-2 after the first period.
The Little Giants scored three times in the second period on a goal from Stonis and two from Fitzgerald before an offensive explosion in the third period. Wabash tallied ten goals to lead 17-4 entering the final 15 minutes of play. Fitzgerald accounted for seven of the Little Giants' ten goals in the third period.
Caulin Fitzgerald added his second goal of the season and another goal from Stonis.
Quinn Fitzgerald scored twice more in the fourth period to go with a man-up goal from Stonis and an even-strength score from Jske Pippen.
Wabash scored only three man-up goals in four opportunities on the afternoon, picking up 18 goals at even strength against Concordia. The Little Giants outshot the host Cougars 55-31.
Artie Rogers gave out a team-high seven assists in the contest.

Evan Stonis, Pippen, and
Quinn Fitzgerald.
Luka DiFilippo handed out one assist.DiFilippo also won 15 of the 27 faceoffs and grabbed a team-best eight ground balls.
Goalkeeper
Braeden Cooper made eight saves to earn his third victory of the year.
Wabash returns home to play Earlham College on Wednesday, February 28, at 4 p.m. for the team's Military Appreciation Game.
